However cost is clearly a factor in considering training these days – especially for SMEs. I have a lot of experience in creating, commissioning and delivering training and I have used that know-how to create and deliver a number of successful short, low cost training solutions to common business and management issues.
Performance is of major concern to most managers, 84% of who say, when surveyed, that they are aware of performance issues in their area. This basic programme is aimed at ensuring that supervisors and managers can manage performance issues in a more confident and effective way. Managing Dignity and Respect in the Workplace
This course gives managers and supervisors the skills to allow them supervise and direct staff with due regard to the legislation and guidelines on dignity and respect in the workplace. The course explains the main points of the legislation in this area and clarifies terms and expressions such as “bullying”, “harassment”, “racism” and “sexism” etc. Handouts are used to cover points of law and official guidelines but for the most part role play, real-life case studies and tutor-led discussion form the main learning tools.
It is always advisable for companies to have formal policies on important topics that may affect the business. Essentially policies are guidelines as to how various stakeholders (management, staff, customers etc.) in the business should behave in certain circumstances. For instance a simple and effective policy on bullying and harassment makes it very clear to everyone what should be done in the case of a complaint of bullying.
